Our Story

About me
Brittany D. Foley is a community health worker, neighborhood leader, social work student, and proud graduate of Huston-Tillotson University, a historically Black university where she earned her degree in Environmental Science with a minor in African American Studies. Her work sits at the powerful intersection of justice, education, and community empowerment.

Working in federal public defender's office, Brittany represents individuals facing the most severe consequences of the criminal legal system. Her approach is rooted in compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to restorative justice and systemic change.

Outside the office, Brittany is a dedicated civic leader working to uplift and transform neighborhoods across Kansas City. She serves as a board member of the Blue Hills Neighborhood Association and currently holds the position of Chairwoman of the Kansas City Public Schools District Advisory Board for the 2024–2025 term. She is also a graduate of the Center for Neighborhoods Cohort 14, where she strengthened her passion for neighborhood revitalization and equitable, community-led development.

In 2024, Brittany launched Young + Thriving in Blue Hills, a nonprofit initiative focused on supporting young parents through mentorship, education, and resource access. She is also the founder of Earth Angel by Brittany, an eco-conscious brand offering sustainable home and self-care products designed to promote healing and environmental stewardship.

Through every role she takes on, Brittany remains committed to building communities where families are supported, futures are protected, and voices are heard.
